Individual Stress & Anxiety Coaching
A little bit of stress in the right situation can be good. Our stress response is there to keep us safe, so we can focus and be alert should we need to for our own protection, or in an emergency. And it can also be helpful to motivate us to get our work done, or to keep us fired up for a coming presentation. However too many of us suffer too much stress. In fact as many as 89% of us are due to experience serious stress at one point or another in our lives. So how do you know if you are experiencing too much stress…? Many of us have come to accept the symptoms of stress in our lives, pushing down the feelings, not realising what the long term detrimental effects could be. Here is a list of some common stress symptoms, or problems which can be exacerbated by stress:
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
- Impaired Concentration.
- Feeling Harassed, Irritable or Angry.
- A Tendency To Make Mistakes
- Sleeplessness
- Poor General Health
- Feeling Frazzled or Overwhelmed
- Panic or Anxiety Attacks
- Poor Judgement/Decision Making
- High Blood Pressure
- Skin Problems (e.g. Eczema, cold sores)
- Hair loss
- A Change In Appetite
- Use of Alcohol, Drugs, Cigarettes To Relax
- Chest Pains or Rapid Heartbeat
- Unhappiness or Depression
- Loss of Self Confidence
If any of the above apply to you, you can already recognise that when you are stressed, everything is more difficult. Our relationships become more strained, our health is affected very seriously (recent studies showed that the health care costs of those suffering from stress or depression is 147% higher than those who aren't), we suffer from sleeplessness, poor concentration, illness and low confidence. But most of all, when we are feeling stressed, we are not feeling good. What would having less stress mean to you…? How would you like to feel differently…?
