Business Mentor

A Business Mentor is someone who can help provide some impartial, external input to your business. Who’s been there and made the mistakes so you don’t have to! Who can help guide you to more success.

Why are some businesses more successful than others? One of the reasons is business mentoring. It’s so important that many financiers would not lend money unless a Business Mentor is in place. So what can a Business Mentor give you that you can’t do for yourself?

Business Mentoring

Business mentoring for happy business owners!

External Perspective

One of the key things that Business Mentoring provides you with is a different perspective on what you are doing.  Different doesn’t mean better, it just means different.  All of your customers, suppliers and competitors think differently to you, so it’s wise to get different perspective on what you are doing in your business.  A Business Mentor may provide a perspective that you haven’t considered, identify an opportunity or potential problem.  This doesn’t mean that they are “better” at business than you. Their external and impartial perspective allows them the state of mind to identify things that you can’t/don’t see.

War Stories

Your Business Mentor (hopefully me!) has the dual benefit of not only having been there and made mistakes themselves – but also having learnt the war stories of their other clients and the mistakes that they have made. How helpful could it be to have someone working with you who is aware of common pitfalls on the path to business success?!  The caveat here is to remember that just because something didn’t work for someone else, that doesn’t necessarily mean that it won’t work for you.  A good Business Mentor (like me) will help you to understand that your own wisdom trumps anyone else’s. It’s just helpful to have these war stories as part of your decision making process.

State of Mind Coaching

This might be where I differ from other Business Mentors, because my coaching qualification and 3 Principles understanding can be used to help business owners to be in the right state of mind for business and become more aware of when they are not operating at their best capacity.  We cannot underestimate the importance of this.  State of mind affects behaviour, which impacts upon performance significantly.  A healthy and clear state of mind is a gift for business owners, so using a Business Mentor who knows how to help you achieve this is a real advantage.  To find out more about how I can work with you, please get in touch.
